Jackson has arrived

As I write this Jackson is now 2 days old and it has been an amazing couple of days. It started off with a 7:00AM check in time to the hospital and was a "fun filled" day that ended with Jackson arriving at 5:03PM. The labor went well but was not always pleasant. Melissa had 3 failed regular epidurals (which was very painful to Mel) and ended with a successful caudal epidural. If you are not familiar with a caudal epidural you are not alone because this was only the 2nd time that our doctor had every attempted the procedure! Due to the location of the caudal epidural Mel felt some pretty good pain during the contractions, but felt nothing during the actual birth. Jackson needed some assistance so our doctor used the "Vacuum". With that Jackson had a pretty good conehead for a little while. As stated Jackson arrived at 5:03PM and weighted 7 lbs 3 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. He has a head full of hair and will probably have a full beard like his daddy by the end of the week..........We headed home from the hospital this afternoon and things are going great. As we left the hospital I did try and bribe a few of the nurses to see if they could come home with us but I was unsuccessful....
God has blessed us with an amazing son and we thank him for that. Our prayer is that we look to Him for continued guidance and wisdom during this journey.
